I REALLY want to be scene, but im not allowed to buy many band shirts or tight jeans or dye my hair black. Any other tips?

yea i can't dye my hair either but... you really need to get your attitude down pat and then just try collecting pieces over time... i can't get much black stuff at one time so like i just save money and then just get like one piece a week... so yea...

Well, I would look around on the internet for inspiration. There are tons of pictures of "scene" kids, and they don't wear straight band shirts... Check out Cory Kennedy for example, she has a really unique style and while you may not be allowed to wear certain things that make up the "scene" look, I'm sure there are other aspects of it you would be allowed to wear. I'm not allowed to dye my hair either, so I'm with you on that for sure. I'm trying to make up for it a little with cool haircuts instead... Try going for extremes: long and messy, like you just rolled out of bed, or short and piecey.... Hope that helps!

I'm surprised that you are so keen on following a dying trend but to each his/her own. If you want tight jeans, you can tailor jeans you already have to varying degrees of tightness by cutting the legs along the seams and then re-sewing them the way you want. Depending on your complexion, black may not be a good look anyway. Just get one of those side swept hair cuts and if you're a girl, wear those little kid bows. Band shirts... well, you can always start going to shows and compiling them that way. Hot Topic also has a variety. Just look online. Myspace has hundreds of groups.
