Simplest classification is always living and non-living.
Living: Ants, earthworms, grasses, ladybugs
Non-Living: Marble, one-peso coin,paper clip, pencil, chalk, rubber band,safety pin, sheet of paper, bottle cap, hair
I don't know if the rice grains have been harvested yet or not. If yes, non-living, no, then living. Also, you could categorise them as once-alive or never alive.
