I am going to have a new outfit for a "do" on new years eve.

Black court shoes, dark stockings.charcoal grey suit, white silk blouse with collar turned down over black band with very old cameo brooch. very deep red waist coat. Hair (grey) brushed till it shines and clasped at the back with a silver Irish broosh.

I think it does about 20-25% after you first get it. It wears off some after you've been wearing it for more than 4 hours, though I guess. The next time you wear it the effect might only be 10 to 15%.

Your outfit sounds dazzling! I always feel better with a new outfit! I am going to give up black this year and go with a deep aqua that has a texture like cut out velvet.
